Is Arizona the new semiconductor manufacturing center for the USA?

$53 billion in funding has been assigned to the semiconductor industry when the CHIPS and Science act was signed into law on August 9, 2022.

And Arizona is getting a great chunk of that money.

Companies like TSMC ( Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) is building several Fabs in Scottsdale, AZ that amount to an investment of $50 billion dollars. TSMC is the world’s largest contract chip manufacturer. The new site is over 1,000 acres  and it represents one of the largest foreign investments in the USA., a massive project with high probability of success.

Amkor Technology, Inc is  investing Up to $2 billion dollars by building an Advanced Packaging and Test Facility in Peoria, AZ.

Intel will use part of the $8.5 billion in CHIPS money  to construct two new leading-edge logic fabs and updating one existing fab in Chandler, Arizona.

It is a great time for the semiconductor industry in the USA and in Arizona!!
